About Alex
Fluent in the language of funders—and the realities of the field.
I have spent more than 15 years working across Central America, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan. I work in Spanish and translate between the people who fund the work, lead it, and live with its consequences.
I grew up in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, as the only child of an Indian mother who was born in Rwanda and a North Carolinian father. Long before I worked internationally, home taught me that people can understand the same situation through very different histories, cultures, and ways of communicating.
That perspective shaped how I work. I listen before I prescribe, adapt without losing direction, and translate across the people who fund the work, lead it, and live with its consequences. It helps me recognize what is being said, what is not being said, and where a promising plan may collide with local reality.
My role is often to step into work that matters, locate the knot, and help a team untwist it. For funders, that can mean clearer decisions, stronger diligence, and a more grounded view of execution risk. For organizational leaders, it can mean sharper priorities, stronger fundraising and operating capacity, and a plan the team can actually carry forward.
My role is to help both sides understand what the other needs—then build a practical path they can move forward on together.
